Ring it up, take the money, and the book keeps itself.
Register is a till for small shops, on the laptop, tablet or phone you already have. Tap or scan what's being bought, take cash, your own card machine or your own QR code, and hand over the receipt. No more writing every sale in the register book: the stock comes off by itself, and at closing it tells you what should be in the drawer.

What it does
Three things, and that's the till
Ring it up
Tap it on the screen or scan its barcode, with a USB scanner or the phone's camera. A mug in sea green, an hour on the wheel, a dupatta and its stitching: products and services on one ticket, with who did each service. Park it to serve the next person, then pick it back up.
Take the money your way
Cash, with the change worked out. Card on the machine you already have, SumUp, Square or your bank's: the till records what went through. Or your own QR code on the screen, for a payment link. Split it any way you like. Register never takes a cut.Cash, with the change worked out. Card on your bank's card machine: the till records what went through. Or your own Raast, JazzCash or Easypaisa QR code on the screen. Split it any way you like. Register never takes a cut.
The book keeps itself
The receipt prints on a till roll, goes by email with a PDF, or on WhatsApp. Stock comes off as you sell and returns put it back, and at closing the end-of-day report says what should be in the drawer, by cash, card and QR.
What you sell
Products and services. Set up each one the way it sells.
There is no business type to pick. Each thing you sell has these settings, and the same settings cover a potter's mugs and wheel tasters, a textile shop's dupattas and stitching, a barber's cuts and a phone shop's screen repairs.
A tile on the till
A photo, a price and a category, so it's one tap away on the till's shelf.
Sizes and colours
Up to three options. Every combination is a variant with its own stock, SKU, barcode and, if you like, price.
Stock for each one
Every sale takes it off and a return can put it back. Or don't count it, for things made to order.
Running low
A warning at the number you choose, and a list of what to reorder from which supplier.
Barcodes
Use the barcode that's already on it, or give it one of your own. A USB scanner or the phone's camera finds it at the till.
Price at the till
For things sold by weight, by length or as quoted: the till asks what it comes to each time.
Services, and who did them
A haircut, a repair, a taster session: a price and how long it takes, sold beside products, with who did it on the receipt and in the reports.
Your returns policy
How many days something can come back, and your own words about exchanges, on every receipt.
Getting started
Three steps
- Step 1
Create your business and add what you sell
Your products with their sizes and stock, and your services. A few minutes for the first ones.
- Step 2
Choose how you take money
Cash is always there. Name your card machine and add your QR code, and the till offers them.
- Step 3
Open the till and make your first sale
On the laptop, tablet or phone by the counter. Every sale lands in Sales, and the day adds itself up.
Meet Reggie
A helper who knows Register inside out.
Reggie is Register's own cash register: white gloves, navy bow tie, a receipt roll on top and quick with a sum. He's with you from the first time you sign in.
Shows you round on day one
The first time you sign in, he walks you round Register one page at a time, then offers to set things up with you: your first products and services, how you take money, and the till.
Teaches the Learning Centre
33 short lessons, a few minutes each, from your first product to closing the day. Open to anyone, no account needed.
Answers from the corner of the app
Ask him how to do something and he tells you, then points at the right button. Ask him to do it and he shows the change as a card. Nothing changes until you approve it.

What AI never touches
Some things are kept away from AI assistants on purpose, Reggie included. Register gives them no way to do these, whatever they're asked. They stay with you, in Register:
- Ringing up a sale or taking a payment, by cash, card machine or QR code
- Voiding a sale, taking a return or giving a refund
- Payment settings: which ways the till takes money, the card machine and the QR code customers scan
- Your Register plan, billing and invoices from Register
- Team logins: inviting people, changing roles, removing someone
- Handing the business to a new owner, or closing it
- Your own account: password, email, signing out
- Customers' contact details, notes and exports
- Reading customers' messages, or writing to customers, including switching on automations that message them
- Deleting or archiving anything
- Changing the currency or time zone
- Connecting the mailbox emails go out from, or the WhatsApp number
What's included
Everything the counter needs, from the first sale to closing
Never turns a sale away
If the stock count says there are none but one's in the customer's hand, the till sells it and puts the count right, marked in the stock history so you can see where it was off.
Cash, card and QR
Cash with the change worked out, your own card machine, and your own QR code for a payment link: one way, or split across them. Card money goes through your machine's provider, never through Register.Cash with the change worked out, your own card machine, and your own Raast, JazzCash or Easypaisa QR code: one way, or split across them. The money goes straight to you, never through Register.
Receipts, the way they want them
Printed on a till roll, emailed with a PDF, or on WhatsApp with the add-on (£2 a month, plus messages at costRs 600 a month, plus messages at cost$2.50 a month, plus messages at cost). Each one has a QR code that brings the sale back up.
Returns and voids in two taps
Scan the receipt, choose what's coming back and whether it goes back on the shelf, and refund it by cash, card or QR. A sale rung up by mistake is voided instead.
Stock that keeps itself
Low-stock warnings, purchase orders to your suppliers that add to the shelf when the goods arrive, and stock counts when you want to check.
End of day
What should be in the drawer, by cash, card and QR, with returns taken off. Reports on what sells, your busy hours and who sold what.
Customers, if they want
A name, email or phone at the till for the receipt, or nothing at all. Regulars build up their visits, trade customers get invoices, automations send return confirmations and review requests, and replies land in your Inbox.
Your team
Invite up to 25 people. Staff ring up sales, take returns, count the drawer and keep products and stock up to date. Owners and admins also change the settings, payments, automations, the team and billing, and see the reports and exports.
At the counter
On the laptop, tablet or phone you already have
Scan it, or tap it
A USB barcode scanner types straight into the till, and the phone's or tablet's camera scans too. No barcode? Tap its tile, or search for it by name. Nothing to install: Register runs in the browser.

FAQ
Common questions
What kind of shop is Register for?
Any business with a counter, whatever it sells: a pottery shop, a clothes or textile shop, a bakery or café, a gift shop, a barber or salon, a phone repair shop, a corner shop. Products off the shelf and services done there and then, on one till. You set up each product and service; there is no business type to choose.
What do I need to run it?
A laptop, tablet or phone with a web browser and the internet. A USB barcode scanner and a receipt printer if you'd like them (the phone's or tablet's camera scans barcodes too), and the card machine you already have, if you take cards. Nothing to install and no contract.
How do customers pay?
In cash, with the till working out the change; on the card machine you already have (SumUp, Square, Zettle or your bank's), with the till recording what went through; or by scanning your own QR code on the screen, for a payment link. One sale can be split across them any way. How do returns work?
Scan the QR code on the receipt, or find the sale in Sales. Choose what's coming back and how many, whether each goes back on the shelf, and how the money goes back: cash, card or QR. The stock and the day's takings put themselves right, and the customer can get a return confirmation by email. A sale rung up by mistake is voided instead, and everything goes back as it was.
What if the stock count says it's gone, but it's on the counter?
Sell it. The till sells what's in front of you and puts the count right first, marked “Counted at the till” in the stock history, so you can see where the count was off. If you'd rather it stopped you, switch that off in Settings → Payments.
What's the end-of-day report?
Your Z report: every sale since the day began, the returns and refunds, and what should be in the drawer, by cash, card and QR, starting from your float. Count the drawer, compare, and you're done. Anyone on the team can run it; the full reports are for owners and admins.
Who is Reggie?
Register's helper, a cheerful cash register with white gloves and a navy bow tie. The first time you sign in he shows you round and offers to set things up with you. He teaches the 33 lessons in the Learning Centre, and he sits in the corner of every page in the app to answer questions. If you ask him to change something, he shows the change as a card first, and nothing happens until you approve it.
Can I use ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini with Register?
Yes. Connect it from Settings → AI tools, then ask it to set up your products and services, stock, discount codes, automations, and the till's returns policy and habits. It works as you, with your role. Ringing up sales and taking payments, voids, returns and refunds, payment settings, billing, team logins, your own account, handing over or closing the business, customers' details, reading or writing to customers, deleting anything, connecting your mailbox or WhatsApp number, and your currency and time zone are kept away from it. Every change it makes shows under Recent AI changes in Settings → AI tools. Your assistant's own plan matters too: ChatGPT, for example, can only read on Plus and Pro.
Do customers have to give their details?
No. Most sales are to walk-ins, with no name at all. If someone would like their receipt by email, or on WhatsApp (like +44 7700 900123) once your add-on is sending, take their email or number at the till, and they're in your customer book for next time.No. Most sales are to walk-ins, with no name at all. Can I cancel?
Any time, from the dashboard: Settings → Billing → Manage subscription. A cancelled plan keeps working until the end of the period you've paid for. The first 7 days are free with no card needed. If the trial or a plan ends, nothing is deleted: the till stops ringing up new sales and the dashboard goes read-only, and both pick up again when you subscribe.
