Lesson 5 of 7 · 3 min

Cash, card machine and QR code

The three ways the till takes money, and setting up your own card machine and QR code in Settings → Till & payments.

  1. The till takes money three ways: cash, your card machine, and your QR code. Register never touches the money: it keeps the book of what came in, and how, so the end of the day adds up.
  2. Settings → Till & payments

Open Settings, then Till & payments. Cash is always on. For cards, switch on Card machine and give it the name on the counter, like SumUp: the till then says “Put £12.00 through the SumUp”, so whoever's serving knows which machine. Any machine works: SumUp, Square, Zettle, your bank's.
  3. QR code

For QR, put in what customers' apps pay to: a Raast ID or IBAN in Pakistan, a payment link in the UK. The till draws it as a QR code. Or upload a picture of the QR your bank or wallet gave you. Noor Studio names it Raast, so the till's button says so.
  4. Then, when you press Charge, the payment sheet offers exactly those. Noor Studio has all three: cash for most, the HBL card machine for some, Raast for anyone with a banking app.
  5. At the till

Under At the till, on the same page, choose the till's habits: ask for an email for the receipt, print every receipt on the printer by the till, and sell what's on the counter even when the stock says it's gone.
