Lesson 4 of 6 · 3 min

End of day: count the drawer

What came in and went back by cash, card and QR, so the drawer can be counted, with the day's sales, returns, voids and who served.

  1. Reports → End of day

End of day is the till's Z report: under Reports, in its End of day tab, and a button away on the Overview and on Sales. Everyone on the team can open it, staff included.
  2. Cash in the drawer

Cash in the drawer does the sum: type the float you started with, and it adds the cash taken and takes off the cash given back. With a £50.00 float, £246.00 should be in the drawer tonight. Count the notes and coins, type what you counted, and it says Spot on, or Over or Short by how much.
  3. Card and QR are counted elsewhere: under By way of paying, check the card total against your machine's own end-of-day slip, and the QR total against your banking app. Something out? Sales lists every payment, with its reference.
  4. Below the money: Sales, with the discounts and the average sale; Returns and voids; Who served; and What sold most. Press Print for a slip for the book, and Previous day to look back at any day.
