Lesson 6 of 6 · 2 min

Make an invoice

A proper invoice for a business customer, made from a sale, or one of its own for work you didn't ring up.

  1. A business customer needs a proper invoice? Open the sale on Sales and press Make an invoice: it's made from the sale, numbered, with your details and theirs, already paid.
  2. Sales → Invoices

For work that wasn't rung up at the till, like a commission or the studio hired for a team night, press New invoice under Sales, in its Invoices tab: who it's for, the lines, and when it's due.
  3. Invoice settings

Invoice settings hold what every invoice says: your business details, your VAT number if you have one, the payment terms, and a line at the foot, like your bank's sort code and account number.
  4. Mark one paid when the money arrives: it moves from Pending to Paid, and anything past its due date shows as Overdue.
