Lesson 1 of 4 · 2 min

Barcodes and scanning

A USB scanner, the camera or the code typed in: each puts the right size and colour straight on the ticket.

  1. Three ways to scan at the till: a barcode scanner plugged into the laptop or tablet, the camera on a phone or tablet, or the code typed into the search box.
  2. A USB or Bluetooth scanner types the code for you, Enter and all, like a keyboard: point it at the label and the item's on the ticket. There's nothing to set up in Register.
  3. Search or scan a barcode

No scanner? Press the camera button beside the search box and hold the barcode up to the camera. Or type the numbers into the search box and press Enter.
  4. Sizes & options

Barcodes live on each variant, under Sizes & options, beside its SKU: the one printed on the maker's label, or one of your own. Scan a code that's on nothing and the till says so, so you can add it to the right variant.
