Lesson 2 of 6 · 3 min

Take a return

Find the sale, choose what's coming back, put it back on the shelf or not, and give the money back by cash, card or QR.

  1. Someone's bringing something back? On the till, press Return and find the sale: type its receipt number, scan the code on their receipt, or search their name or phone. Or open the sale on Sales and press Return items.
  2. Bring something back

Choose what's coming back and how many. Tick Back on the shelf if it can be sold again; leave it off for something broken. A service has nothing to put back.
  3. Money back: the till suggests what they paid for those items, discounts taken off. Give it back by cash, card machine or QR. Swapping it for something else? Set it to 0 and ring the new one up as a sale.
  4. Settings → Policies

Your returns policy is in Settings → Policies: how many days, or your own words, printed on every receipt. Past it, the till still takes a return if you say yes, and tells you it's late.
  5. Each return goes on the sale and in the Returns view, and End of day takes it off the day's money. If they gave an email, they get a return confirmation.
