Lesson 4 of 7 · 2 min

Add a service

Things you do rather than things on the shelf, like a taster session, a repair or a haircut: how long, what it costs, and who does it.

  1. Products → Services

A service is something you do for someone who walks in: a wheel taster session at The Clay Room, a dupatta hemmed at Noor Studio, a haircut, a phone screen fitted. They're under Products, in the Services tab, and they sit on the till beside the products. They never count stock.
  2. Products → Services → New service

Press New service: a name, how long it usually takes, and a price. Priced on the day, like a repair? Tick Ask the price each time and the till asks what to charge whenever it's rung up. Then pick who on the team does it; pick nobody and it's anyone.
  3. Tap it on the till and it asks who did it, so the right name goes on the receipt and in Reports, under sales by team member. Ellie ran the session? Pick Ellie, even if Jo is the one at the till.
  4. A service and a product can go on the same ticket: a taster session and the mug they fell in love with, paid together, one receipt.
