Lesson 4 of 4 · 3 min

Ordering from your suppliers

Purchase orders keep track of what's coming from whom, and receiving one puts it on the shelf, all at once or a box at a time.

  1. A purchase order is stock you've ordered from a supplier: who it's from, what's on it, what each costs you and when it's due. Raising one never changes your stock; receiving it does.
  2. Suppliers → Purchase orders

Under Suppliers → Purchase orders, press New purchase order, or Reorder low stock on Inventory to start one with everything running low, quantities filled in. Place it once it's gone to the supplier.
  3. Receiving

When it comes, open it and press Receive delivery. Everything still to come is filled in, so a full delivery is one tap; change the numbers for a part one, and add the number on their delivery note. It's booked in Deliveries at the order's costs, and the rest stays on order until it comes.
  4. Anything that was sold out is back on the till the moment it's received, and the stock history names the purchase order it came from. When their bill comes, add it from the delivery and it waits in Bills to pay. The rest isn't coming? Close it as it stands. Nothing arrived at all? Cancel it.
